Compliance with Laws and Regulations
We comply with laws, regulations and social rules, and act in accordance with our social conscience. We fully recognize the fact that any act in violation of laws, regulations or social rules has a direct impact on the survival of the corporation. It is the responsibility of each one of us to confirm, understand and comply with what all laws, regulations, and company rules that relate to our duties require of us.

Compliance with the Broadcast Law
As individuals who are engaged in the business of broadcasting, we solemnly acknowledge the purpose of the Broadcast Law, comply with it and strive to ensure the sound growth of broadcasting.

Compliance with Company Rules
We comply with all company rules concerning program production, including the “Program Standards” and “Coverage and Broadcast Rules.” In addition, we will comply with company regulations other than those that relate to program production.

Fair Competition
We will strive to act sensibly in the marketplace, comply with the Antitrust Law, Financial Instruments and Exchange Law, and other laws that relate to the Subcontracting Law. In addition, we will comply with internal corporate regulations such as the NTV Guidelines & Bylaws that relate to program production consignment trading as we conduct fair, transparent and free transactions.

Service to Viewers and the Japanese People
We provide services to our viewers and the Japanese people so that they are informed of the truth, or experience enjoyment and satisfaction, and ceaselessly endeavor to create new broadcast culture and renovate broadcast technology.

We respond sincerely to the opinions and criticisms expressed by our viewers and the Japanese people, and endeavor to bring greater satisfaction to them and earn their trust through honest communications.

Ban on Discriminatory Treatment
We respect the personality and uniqueness of individual persons, and under no circumstance discriminate or harass people on the basis of their gender, credos or physical conditions. Neither do we allow others to commit such acts.

We maintain a healthy and safe work environment that is free of unfair discriminations and harassment. We use neither sexually suggestive remarks or behaviors (sexual harassment) nor remarks or behaviors that are slanderous of credos and other human rights in the workplace.

We press forward with effective use of resources and energy-saving efforts so as to pass our global environment to the next generation in as good a condition as possible. In addition, we endeavor to preserve the global environment through broadcasting, events and a variety of other business activities, as well as personal activities.

As a corporate citizen that is a member of the society, we strive to have active communication with the community. We do not behave in ways that can be a nuisance to the community.

5. [Sound and Amicable Relationship with Business Partners] |

Ban on Unfair Trade
We deal with corporations and individuals who are engaged in coverage, program production or broadcasting, advertisers and advertising agencies, and any other business partners in a sincere manner. Furthermore, we maintain a sound and amicable relationship with them, and do not make decisions, or offer privileges or transactions that are unfair.

Ban on Excessive Gifts and Entertainment
We do not furnish corporations or individuals who are engaged in coverage, program production or broadcasting, advertisers, advertising agencies, or any other business partners with excessive gifts or entertainment.

We do not accept excessive gifts or entertainment from any corporations or individuals who are engaged in coverage, program production or broadcasting, advertisers, advertising agencies, or any other business partners.

Government Employees
We do not furnish any government employees or individuals who are in positions similar to those of government employees with excessive gifts or entertainment.

Anti-social Organizations and Individuals
We take a firm stand against anti-social organizations and individuals at all times, and furnish no benefits whatsoever regardless of their names.

6. [Sincere and Fair Business Operation] |

Corporate Information Disclosure
At appropriate times and by using proper methods, we disclose information other than that which is confidential or bound by the duty of confidentiality (including our sources of information for reporting) that the Japanese people and the society legitimately need to know, and conduct fair and transparent corporate activity.

Personal Information
We gather and manage personal information properly. We do not disclose such information to a third party or use it for purposes other than the intended purpose without following proper procedures, such as securing the consent of the individual whose personal information is used, or legitimate reasons.

Confidential Information
We properly manage corporate information that we acquire in the course of performing our duty, and not disclose it to a third party or use it for private purposes not related to work without consent of the company. We do not leak the company’s confidential information even after we leave the company.

Intellectual Property
We respect intellectual property rights, and strictly protect the company’s intellectual property rights. At the same time, we pay utmost attention not to infringe upon the intellectual property rights of others. We obtain and use such intellectual properties through fair means.

Ban on Insider Trading
We do not engage in insider trading, or selling or buying of a company’s shares, etc. while knowing inside information that is not disclosed to the public in connection with our work.

Ban on Private Use
We do not use the authority, position or assets of the company to make personal gains.

Personal Conflict of Interest
In the event that we are faced with any situations which will be beneficial for our personal interest, but against that of the company, we will give priority to the company’s interest.

7. [Construction and Maintenance of an Internal Reporting System] |

In the event that you firmly believe that a policy, activity or conduct that is upheld or carried out by a member of our company either violates or has the potential of violating laws, regulations or company rules, including this “Nippon Television Compliance Charter,” we encourage you to promptly report such violation or potential violation. An internal reporting system that is independent of the normal line of command is constructed and maintained so as to ensure that such reporting and action are carried out properly. Except when an informant is a participant in an illegal activity, the informant is treated fairly and cordially. No retaliatory or disadvantageous treatment against the informant is permitted under any circumstances.
