As autumn cloaks the ancient capital of Kyoto with its vivid foliage, the 1200- year-old historic city reaches the peak of its beauty. In sharp contrast to the sightsduring the day, the evening illumination reveals subtle, yet profound dimensions of Kiyomizu Temple and Kodaiji Temple. These notable sights, regardless of time of day, are where numerous tourists gather to enjoy autumn in the ancient city.

Over the years, Kyoto has nurtured a distinct history and culture, of which one ritual has been to pass along Japanese tradition throughthe world of tea. The tea served by grand tea master Sen Soshitsu of the Urasenke School is exemplary of such a tradition.

Delicacies of Kyoto cuisine, such as soy milk skim ("yuba") and thinly sliced radish pickles ("senmai- zuke"), will be introduced as part of Kyoto's traditional palate. The fine subtleties of taste are sure to call forth a renewed sense of awe for the city's long history.

The lush greenery of early summer is a sharp contrast to the bursting rich colors of late autumn of Arashiyama Mountain, Nanzenji Temple and Tetsugaku no Michi ("Road of Philosophy"). We will fully depict how the seasons and their changing wardrobes intensify the appeal of this historic city.
