In October and November every year, the people of Churchill, a small town huddled on the edge of HudsonBay in Canada's arctic north, come face to face with the wild when they share their area with migrating giant polar bears. This documentarylooks at how the townspeople deal with the polar bears' annual visit and then follows the bears on their route throughChurchill and out onto HudsonBay when it freezes over. Many of the polar bears' interesting habits and characteristics such as their ritual fighting and the way they sleep, even in a blizzard with only their muzzles protected, are included.
