Silent Library has been a primetime, family-oriented television sensation in Japan and is considered to be one of the most influential comedy shows in Asia! Created by the popular Japanese comedian, Hitoshi Matsumoto, in 2001, Silent Library has been a successful segment on the long-running variety show “Downtown No Gaki no Tsukai ya Arahende!”
Six players sit at a public library table, pick one card each, and the one who picks the skull mark card has to endure a bizarre "punishment," such as a tarantula on his face, taste a bad-smelling businessman's shoes, all while staying silent.
Local versions have been produced in more than 20 countries including US and UK.
