A fact unknown to many, the narrow Japanese archipelago consists of more than 6,000 islands. If transposed onto a map of North America, it would extend from southern Canada to the Bahamas. And from top tobottom there exists a surprisingly wide variety of plant and animal life, much of it still protected from destructive urbanization. This program is a breathtaking tour of three very remote islands, each a nature-lover's dream.
