Marking the thirtieth anniversary of the normalization of bilateral Japan-China relations, in August 2002 twelve determined women - six from the Japanese Alpine Club and six from the China Tibet Mountaineering Association - set out to accomplish the world's first joint Japan-China all women's climb of a a mountain over 8,000 meters high. Confronted with linguistic, cultural and historical differences, watch as these resolute and strong-willed women bravely fight on to reach the top of Mt. Cho Oyu at 8 ,201 meters, se tting a new world record.
