A heartwarming tale of the miraculous bond that develops between a baby wolf named 'Ululu' and a human family.

Introduction :
In 2007, A tale of Mari and three puppies became a major hit movie with its depiction of the remarkable bond between a Shiba dog with three pups and her human family, who were torn apart by the "Niigata Prefecture Chuetsu Earthquake." Now, the cast and crew have reunited to create a new film that will deeply move us once again.
The music is provided by Joe Hisaishi, widely known for his many compositions for Studio Ghibli productions, who is recognized
as a true maestro of film score both within Japan and internationally. Eiichiro Funakoshi, the starring role in A tale of Mari and three puppies, once again cast for the main role of the film. Besides, there are also exciting new members including Kyoko Fukada, a very popular actress in films such as "Kamikaze Girls" (2004) and "Yatterman" (2009).

The magnificent scenery of Hokkaido provides the stage for not only the adorable baby wolf Ululu, but other charming wild creatures such as the northern fox, the Ezo deer, and the Ezo flying squirrel will also appear on the big screen!

Story :
An older brother and younger sister from Tokyo, Subaru and Shizuku, must go to live in Hokkaido when their mother Natsuko is hospitalized. Their parents are divorced, and their father Daiji has lived in Hokkaido for five years already. He is a veterinarian who provides emergency rescue for wild animals that have been injured. He welcomes theUlulu sub1.jpg two of them, but they have difficulty getting used to life with a father that they have barely known.

However, their feelings of lonely isolation gradually fade as they encounter the magnificent natural splendor and wildlife of Hokkaido and the gentle humanity of Daiji's younger sister, Chie, who is a nature photographer, and Takuma, who works on a farm.
Then one day, Shizuku comes upon a dog which looks like a baby wolf, and it is all on its own. Shizuku misses her mother, and identifies with the little dog that is in a similar predicament. She is allowed to adopt the dog, provided that she will care for it. She names the puppy Ululu, and their happy days together begin. She expects this to continue indefinitely...

Some days later, a molecular biologist who is with an association for the protection of wildlife, Hasebe, visits Daiji's house. He claims that there is a strong possibility that Ululu is not a dog, but a baby Ezo wolf, although they are believed to be extinct. He insists on taking her into the care of his facility.

Subaru and Shizuku realize that she will never be returned to them, and after retrieving the baby wolf they head off on an epic journey to try to return her to her mother. Their goal is the legendary "'Horokeshi," which means "Home of the Wolves" in the Ainu dialect...
