There exists an oasis of peace in the Demilitarized Zone(DMZ), the 248km(155mile)stretch of land separating North and South Korea. This oasis, however, is enjoyed exclusively by the hundreds of species of plants and animals, some of them endangered, whose survival has been the ironic result of the political realities surrounding their home. In natural habitats untouched by humans for 40 years, here they flourish. This program is an extremely rare glimpse at the nature paradise within the DMZ. NTV's cameras survey the area's brooks and branches, revealing a vast array of plant and animal species, including the endangered Chinese egret. The prosperity of the DMZ's wildlife is an indication that between worlds of conflict place can exist.
