"Hajime no Ippo," the story of a bullied boy who got into boxing and became stronger while being supported by his friends, is a story that has captured the interests of many readers, leading to the sale of more than 80 million copies of the comic book in Japan. The original manga of the same title has been serialized in Weekly Shonen Magazine (Kodansha) since 1989, and is so popular that it is still running today.
The popularity of the manga and the first animation series broadcast from 2000 to 2002 on Nippon TV has led to the production and broadcast of second series "Hajime no Ippo : The Fighting! New Challenger." In this second series, Ippo, who has become the Japanese boxing champion, will have to face various powerful rivals in touch battles as he pursues the path to the very top. This is a TV series that is too good to miss, featuring matches with many familiar characters, such as Ippo's friends from his gym (Kamogawa Gym), and his lifelong rival, Ichiro Miyata.
