"I want to do it to protect the things I cherish."
The earnest wish of some high school girls givesstrength to their community and the entire nation!

Introduction :
Japan has been affected by the depression that has spread worldwide in recent years, and a dark mood prevails throughout the country. Shikoku Chuo City, the "City of Paper" that boasted the top output of paper in Japan, is no exception.

Seeing their beloved hometown gradually declining in prosperity, the members of a high school calligraphy club take action in an attempt to restore some of the city's former vitality. They decide to host a "calligraphy performance competition" to draw people to their city.

Based on a true story, the real "Calligraphy Performance Contest" is actually held in Japan. It is an event where high school students belonging to calligraphy clubs around the country compete against each other to determine the best calligraphy skill and performance. The performances are carried out by using a huge brush on a large sheet of paper measuring over 10 meters horizontally and vertically. The highlight of the performance is the dynamic way the students write their scripts as they jump around all over the paper, along with the club members' uniforms and dance routines. It is moving to witness how seriously these calligraphy club members take their chosen art form, and to witness the teamwork of each club.

Directed towards people of all generations, this film tells how important and joyous to put your greatest efforts into something you believe in, and will surely give you the energy to make tomorrow a better day.

Story :
The story is set in Shikoku Chuo City in Ehime Prefecture, the "City of Paper". However, due to the long recession, the city has lost its former prosperity.

Ikezawa, a substitute teacher, is appointed temporary advisor of the Shikoku Chuo High School calligraphy club that Satoko and her friends belong. Ikezawa appears to have no intention of teaching calligraphy to the club members, and also goes so far as to call Satoko's calligraphy work boring, even though her works are usually showered with awards. The teacher and students seem to go together like oil and water.

One day, Ikezawa is found standing on a large sheet of paper on the school grounds. He uses a large brush to gracefully write script on the paper to the rhythm of music in the background. When Satoko and the club members witness his compelling performance, they come up with the idea to hold a contest for calligraphy performances for the benefit of the local stores in an effort to help revitalize their beloved community.

The big day arrives, and Satoko and the others perform together. Their sincere passion for calligraphy and their earnest love for their hometown envelop the stage, and a small miracle occurs.
