Japan is known as one of the safest countries in the world. However, Japan is not adept at uncovering the real cause of death. Perhaps many deaths caused by criminal acts might have been condoned.
This drama seeks to unearth the buried truth by finding clues from voiceless words of the dead.
Tamami Odate (Makiko Esumi) has just become a special associate professor of forensic pathology at a university. Tamami, a person of strong conviction, is never afraid of stirring up trouble with people around her. She is "the most powerful, reckless woman," a real rusher just like a bulldozer.
On Tamami's first day to the university, she bumps into a jogger, who suddenly collapses. The man dies shortly after, which everyone assumes is a natural death. But Tamami counters by saying, "We will never know the real cause of his death until we conduct an autopsy." The detective, Chika Kamatsuda (Satomi Ishihara), gets irritated at Tamami's behavior, and asks Tamami's colleague Junnosuke Nakura (Goro Inagaki) instead to write down "Death by Disease" on the postmortem certificate.
At the same time, Tamami was asking the jogger's wife to agree to an autopsy on her husband's body, but for some reason the wife refuses...
Can the truth behind his death be brought to light?
