Nippon Television Network Corporation Selected For FTSE4Good Index Series --Joining 26 Other Companies in Japan Selected Simultaneously for DJSI--
British independent global index company FTSE International has selected and certified that Nippon Television Network Corporation (NTV) has met the FTSE's corporate responsibility criteria and is a constituent company in the FTSE4Good Index Series.
The FTSE4Good Index Series, as the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI), requires that a company meets its three basic requirements of (1) working towards environmental sustainability, (2) developing positive relationships with stakeholders and (3) upholding and supporting universal human rights. This index series is intended to serve as an important selection factor for investors to identify reliable companies that meet globally recognized corporate responsibility standards.
NTV's selection was based on accomplishments such as its two-year span of environmental activities, 27th airing of the annual charity program "24-Hour Television" and establishment of the Compliance Charter.
Including NTV, there are 26 Japanese companies, such as Sony Corporation, Teijin Limited, Sompo Japan and Toyota Motor Corporation, who have all already been selected this year for DJSI in addition to the FTSE4Good Index Series.
*Note
The FTSE4Good Index Series is created by FTSE International, a company that originated in 1995 as a joint venture between UK financial newspaper Financial Times and the London Stock Exchange. With offices in London, New York, Paris, Frankfurt and Hong Kong, FTSE International offers investors around the world with various indices.
