24-Hour Television: "Love Saves the Earth" Donates Relief Aid of 15,721,485 yen for 2010 Haiti Earthquake

NTV and 31 of its network affiliates, which comprise the 24-Hour Television Charity Committee, called on the public through nationwide news and information programs from January 15 through March 31 to help provide assistance to the victims of the 7.0-magnitude earthquake that devastated Haiti on January 12, 2010.

As a result, viewers across Japan donated a total of 15,721,485 yen, which was then donated to the Japanese Red Cross Society on May 13, 2010.

It has been reported by the Japanese Red Cross Society that there have been over 220,000 fatalities, 300,000 people injured and 1.3 million people left homeless in Haiti, as of May 13, 2010.

The above relief aid is in addition to the 10 million yen donated by the 24-Hour Television Charity Committee on January 21, 2010.

We thank everyone for their kind and generous donations.
