Nippon Television Network Corporation (NTV) proudly announces that NTV-produced drama "Woman -My Life for My Children-" has been awarded the "MIPCOM BUYERS' AWARD for Japanese Drama" on October 8, 2013 at one of the world's largest international content trade shows MIPCOM held in Cannes, France.

NTV won this award in 2009 for its drama "AISHITERU-KAIYOU-" making NTV the first broadcaster to win this award twice.

This is the 5th occasion that "MIPCOM BUYERS' AWARD for Japanese Drama" has been held since it was established in 2009 by MIPCOM and International Drama Festival in TOKYO with the objective of promoting Japanese dramas to international buyers. The selecting committee consists of 14 international (mostly European) buyers who are recommended by MIPCOM and the winner is chosen from the seven dramas nominated by participating broadcasters.

"Woman -My Life for My Children-", tells the story of a single mother who struggles with money, living her life for her children who she loves so dearly. It received rave reviews in Japan, especially by female viewers. The jury praised "Woman -My Life for My Children-" for its universal theme, excellent storytelling of the current problems of single mothers in Japan, and strong acting.

NTV is honored to have won this award, and will continue to produce dramas which will appeal to international audiences.
