Pandas getting used to new home in China after return from Japan
Giant pandas Ri Ri and Shin Shin, who returned from Japan to China in late September, appear to be getting used to their new home in Sichuan Province in footage released on October 16.
Officials said Ri Ri was initially cautious of his new surroundings but has been getting used to the environment gradually since last week.
The footage was posted on social media by the China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda.
His mate Shin Shin has been relaxed since her arrival and goes to the outdoor enclosure for walks every day.
She has a mild personality and does not get irritated.
Ri Ri and Shin Shin arrived at Ueno Zoo in Tokyo in 2011 and spent 13 years there.
The pair returned to China at age 19 while they could withstand the transport amid their old age and health conditions.
