Noto aquarium fully reopens with first dolphin show since earthquake
Notojima Aquarium in Ishikawa Prefecture reopened all facilities on March 22 after a magnitude 7.6 earthquake on New Year’s Day 2024 damaged plumbing and filtration systems.
The aquarium has been partially operating since July 2024 as reconstruction in other areas continued.
The popular dolphin show was revived with the complete reopening of the aquarium.

The sea lion enclosure was reconstructed since the quake, and the two sea lions that evacuated to other facilities in Japan returned looking healthy.
Notojima Aquarium is holding quiz rallies and other activities until April 6 to celebrate the complete reopening of the aquarium.
