Expo 2025 Osaka: "Mysterious stones" unveiled in one of pavilions

“Mysterious stone guides” are unveiled in one of the 2025 Osaka World Expo’s pavilions ahead of its opening next April.

Eight experts are each responsible for a unique signature-project pavilion at the Expo.

The pavilion by Keio University Professor Miyata Hiroaki on the theme of resonance of lives is called “Better Co-Being."

The pavilion has no ceiling or walls. The idea is to give visitors the experience of looking up at the sky and creating a diverse future together.

The guides are called “mysterious stones” that are handed out to visitors.

Reporter: The stone will vibrate to give illusions to the brain and take visitors around the pavilion.

Vibrations are supposed to make visitors feel as if they are being pulled to the right or left based on the information provided by the tactile sensation.

The professor hopes to guide pavilion visitors in various directions.
