Noto Railway begins narrated train tour of quake affected region

Noto Railway began a narrated train tour of the quake affected region of Ishikawa Prefecture on September 16.

Narrators shared their experiences from the shindo 7 or magnitude 7.6 earthquake that occurred on New Year’s Day.

S/ Miyashita Safumi, Narrator/ Please look here. Roof tiles have fallen off homes. Blue sheets have been spread over the roof to prevent leaks when it rains.

Miyashita was working on a sightseeing train at the time of the earthquake. She was preparing for departure on the idle train.

S/ Miyashita Safumi, Narrator/ We were preparing for departure when the magnitude 7.6 earthquake hit. 

She evacuated passengers to higher ground to protect them from tsunami.

S/ Miyashita Safumi, Narrator/ The white guardrails coming into view is where we climbed to higher ground.

Noto Railway intends to operate the narrated train tours to teach people the lessons from the earthquake.
