Toyota Motor posted record-breaking sales of over 10 million units globally during fiscal 2023 through the end of March 2024.

Toyota Motor’s fiscal 2023 ended in March 2024 with record-breaking sales of over 10 million units globally.

According to Toyota, its global sales volume was over 10.3 million units, surpassing the 10-million mark for the first time.

The Japanese automaker attributed the achievement to factors such as resolving the semiconductor shortage.

But the company could not reach its global sales forecast of 10.4 million units.

Toyota said that the global sales were affected by the decline in production and sales in Asia and Japan due to issues such as certification fraud at Daihatsu Motor and Toyota Industries, both companies in the Toyota group.
