No foul play in death of Japanese actor and singer Nakayama Miho

The management agency for actor and singer Nakayama Miho, who was found dead at her home in Tokyo on December 6, said there was no foul play involving her death.

The agency said on December 8 that authorities have determined that Nakayama died in an accidental incident that occurred while she was taking a bath.

The 54-year-old actress was found in a bathtub filled with water at her residence in Shibuya Ward.

Tokyo police conducted an autopsy to see whether she died of illness.

Nakayama, known affectionately by the nickname Miporin, rose to fame as a J-pop idol in the 1980s and went on to star in numerous drama series and movies, including the internationally acclaimed "Love Letter."
