Osaka Expo test run begins in lead-up to April 13 opening

A test run for the Osaka Expo began on April 4 in the lead-up to the opening on April 13.

On the first day, about 10,000 people, including those involved with the national, Osaka prefectural and Osaka municipal governments and those from business circles, were invited to experience the pavilions and restaurants.

S/ Visitor / It was good how the scenery spreads (from above the ring).

S/ Visitor / We read that we can enter the Singapore Pavilion without reservations, so we went, and the coffee was delicious.

S/ Visitor / This is a personal mobility device. I couldn't reserve the Healthcare Pavilion, so I'm going to the Japan Pavilion.

As only about half of the countries that are funding the construction of their own pavilions are taking part in the rehearsal, there are concerns over delays in preparations.

The test run continues on April 5 and 6, with about 40,000 residents of Osaka Prefecture chosen by lottery taking part.

Organizers will conduct final checks to make last-minute improvements for the six-month event.
