Sources said SMILE-UP., formerly known as Johnny & Associates, sold its headquarters building to a real estate company earlier this year.

SMILE-UP. owned the building located in the Akasaka neighborhood of Tokyo after taking over from Johnny’s, which acquired the property in 2018.

However, SMILE-UP. sold the building to real estate company Hulic in June.

Johnny & Associates removed its signage from the building after sexual abuse allegations were made against the late founder Johnny Kitagawa in October 2023.

After transitioning to SMILE-UP., the new company did not place the new company name on the building.

SMILE-UP. continues to use the building as their main office.
