Ongoing LA wildfires take homes and lives

At least 10 people have been killed by the wildfires in northeast Los Angeles.

A new fire has ignited near Hollywood.
Around 1,500 buildings have burned, and over 380,000 residents have received evacuation orders and warnings as of January 8.
According to local media, the Academy Awards have postponed nomination announcements in light of the raging fires and evacuation of voting Academy members.
Over 450,000 residents experienced power outages on the evening of January 8.
Additionally, officials are warning residents not to drink tap water as it may be polluted.
As of January 9, evacuation orders and warnings have been issued to around 380,000 residents.

After firefighting efforts, the Sunset fire near Hollywood has been contained, but the Palisades fire surrounding famous tourist spots such as Santa Monica has yet to be contained.
Over 10,000 structures have burned down, and strong winds are expected to continue until January 10.
