King Charles III thanks medical professionals in Christmas Day speech
King Charles III: I offer special heartfelt thanks to the selfless doctors and nurses, who this year, have supported me and other members of my family.
King Charles III gave his annual Christmas Day message, in which he thanked medical professionals, referring to his own cancer treatment.
King Charles announced his cancer diagnosis in February this year and is continuing treatment.
This year's message, which was broadcast on December 25, was delivered not from the royal residence, but from Fitzrovia Chapel, the former chapel of Middlesex Hospital.
Also in the speech, the King added that on this Christmas Day, he could not help but think of those whose lives and livelihoods are threatened by conflict.
Also on December 25, the King and several members of the British Royal Family attended Christmas Day church services in Sandringham, Norfolk, eastern England.
Royal attendees included Queen Camilla, Prince William, Prince of Wales, and Catherine, Princess of Wales, who also announced her cancer diagnosis this year.
After announcing in September that she had completed chemotherapy treatment, the British media reported that many royal fans turned out to see Catherine at this public outing.
Meanwhile, Prince Andrew, who has recently been linked to a suspected Chinese agent, along with Prince Harry and wife Meghan Markle, who have been feuding since leaving the royal family, were not in attendance.
