Emperor and his family attend Stradivarius concert
Emperor Naruhito and his family attended a concert featuring Stradivarius instruments on September 3.
The “Stradivarius Concert” that was held in Tokyo celebrated Nippon Music Foundation’s 50th anniversary.
The foundation lends the Stradivarius, one of the world’s finest stringed instruments that was made in Italy in the 17th and 18th centuries, to young musicians free of charge.
19 performers from Japan and abroad played in the concert on September 3.
Emperor Naruhito and his family gave a big round of applause after each piece.
The family commented that the concert was wonderful. Princess Aiko reportedly asked musicians why they started learning the instrument.
