Handless Monkey spotted in Tokyo
What appeared on the streets of Tokyo was... a monkey!
Onlooker: It’s dangerous.
With its right hand, it appears to be threatening the pedestrian.
It doesn’t have a left hand.
After that, it crossed the street on its hind legs.
Another monkey without a left hand appeared in Tokyo on April 13.
It's not clear whether it's the same monkey, but the first sighting was in April 2024.
After being spotted in Fukushima, it seems to have headed south, cutting across the Kanto area.
It was spotted in Shizuoka in December but...
it made a U-turn and returned to the Kanto area early this year.
It has since been spotted in various places.
Onlooker: It’s a monkey.
There was a common point in the sighting reports this month.
The monkey was walking on its hind legs.
Another monkey was also sighted in Toda, Saitama Prefecture last week.
There was also a monkey spotted in Tokyo’s Adachi Ward on April 12.
And a monkey without a left hand was spotted in Kawaguchi in Saitama,
crossing the street quickly and climbing over the fence

There were also multiple reports of monkeys being spotted in Tokyo’s Katsushika Ward.
Officials are warning people that if they spot monkeys nearby,
they should be careful to not make eye contact or loud noises.
