PM Ishiba sends offering to Yasukuni Shrine
Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru sent a sacred offering called “masakaki” to Yasukuni Shrine for the annual fall rites that are held from October 17 until October 19.
Ishiba does not plan on visiting the shrine during this period and instead sent an offering under his name and title.
The Minister of Health, Labor and Welfare and President of the House of Councilors also made an offering.
Diet member Sato Masahisa visited Yasukuni Shrine to represent an organization of diet members committed to visiting the shrine for the annual spring rites, fall rites, and August 15 anniversary of the end of World War II for Japan.
S/ Sato Masahisa, House of Councilors/ The fall rites overlap with the general election, so I came to represent everyone. I prayed for the nation’s peace and with solemn feeling of condolences for the souls of the dead.
The former Minister of State for Economic Security among others has also visited.
