Ishiba makes first phone call with Donald Trump

Japanese Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru’s remarks came after his first phone call with Donald Trump on November 7.
The two’s call lasted for about five minutes.
Ishiba said that he felt that he can have a candid relationship with Donald Trump, who was elected 47th President of the United States.
Trump has insisted that Japan pay more of the cost associated with hosting American troops in the country.
Ishiba only said that he hopes to continue dialogues with the US to enforce Japan-US ties from various perspectives.
The Japanese leader is seeking an opportunity to have his first summit with Donald Trump next week before he attends international conferences in Peru and Brazil.
