Police have arrested a 59-year-old company worker for possessing at least 100 weaponry including five guns.

The man is suspected of possessing five handguns and 28 replica handguns at his home.

According to the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department, the man, believed to be a gun enthusiast, was found to have stored the weapons in his garage, displaying them on a stand. 

Among the seized items were five real pistol, 28 replica handguns and a hunting gun.

The suspect has admitted to the charges, claiming that he bought the weapons about 15 years ago and insists he had no intention of harming anyone or carrying out any terrorist activities. 

He also said that the guns were not loaded and that he has never shot anyone.
