Gold teacup worth 10.4 million yen is stolen
A pure gold teacup worth about 10.4 million yen was stolen from an exhibition and sales event featuring gold items at Nihonbashi Takashimaya department store in Tokyo at around noon on April 11. According to investigative sources, a man committed the crime during the few minutes he spent at the venue and escaped.
Security cameras at the scene captured the man in his 20s or 30s putting the teacup in his backpack and leaving the scene. The Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department believes that the man planned and carried out the crime with the exhibition event in mind and is searching for his whereabouts.
