Bike rampage at Shibuya

A mysterious white smoke covered Shibuya Scramble Crossing in the wee hours of December 24.

It almost looked like a sea of clouds.

Of course, it was not... A motorcycle speeded away with smoke billowing out of it.

Cameras caught part of the melee that took place at dawn.

Two bikes, one with one rider and the other with two, entered the intersection.

The pedestrian crossing signal was green, but the bike was running wildly through the intersection with pedestrians.

A different camera caught the bikes running around the intersection.

The riders seemed to have noticed the police officers… but they went on with the show.

They were running recklessly between the cars.

The bikes disappeared shortly after the police warning. However… They appeared again with billowing smoke.

The crossing was filled with smoke. The smoke appeared to be from a fire extinguisher being discharged by the second rider on the back of the motorcycle.

Smoke was spewed three times in a minute as the bike sped through the intersection.

A different camera shows that only the bike with two riders was spewing smoke.

They started spraying just before they entered the intersection

Some passersby stopped to see the unusual sight.

The scene went on for five minutes before the two bikes left.

The Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department is looking into the case with possible charges of violation of the Road Traffic Law for the suspects.
