Holiday flights during year-end and New Year surge past last year's bookings
The number of reservations for both domestic and international flights for the year-end and New Year's holidays increased significantly over the previous year.
On domestic routes, All Nippon Airways had approximately 1.64 million passengers, up 14.4 percent from the previous year, and Japan Airlines had approximately 1.08 million passengers, up 8.8 percent.
On international routes, ANA served approximately 241,000 passengers, up 16.2 percent from the previous year, and JAL served approximately 226,000, up 24.2 percent.
Both airlines are experiencing strong demand for flights to Hawaii.
ANA has the largest number of reservations in its history, and JAL is almost fully booked except for December 27.
