Number of foreigners visiting Japan reaches a record high in October

 

The Japan National Tourism Organization announced that the number of foreign visitors to Japan in October reached 3,312,000.  

Compared to the same month in 2019, before the COVID-19 pandemic, it increased by 32.7 percent, setting a new record.  

The total number of visitors up to October of this year was 30,192,600, the fastest to exceed the 30 million-mark since record-keeping began in 1964.  

The autumn foliage season is believed to have boosted demand for visits to Japan. There were many travelers from China, Singapore, and the U.S.
