Torrential rain victims identified in Ishikawa Prefecture
Locals remained vigilant against mudslides once again in Wajima in Ishikawa Prefecture on October 2 as rain started to fall.
The ground has loosened after torrential rain drenched the area on September 21.
Ishikawa Prefectural officials and police were able to identify two more victims that were found following the rain.
The body that was found on September 25 near a river in Wajima City was 80-year-old Maekawa Masashi.
The body that was found on September 28 near a dam in the town of Noto was 68-year-old Tanino Machiko.
A body that was found offshore neighboring Fukui Prefecture on September 30 is believed to have been 14-year-old Kiso Hanon who went missing after the downpour last month.
Officials are still searching for 31-year-old Nakayama Miki from Wajima City, who has been missing since the record rainfall. Her car was found near a river.
13 people have been confirmed dead from the rain and two remain missing.
