A walking event to commemorate the fifth anniversary of the Michinoku Coastal Trail opening took place in Miyagi Prefecture, northeastern Japan on June 23.

The Ministry of the Environment developed the nature trail that stretches approximately 1,000 kilometers along the coast from Aomori Prefecture to Fukushima Prefecture.

In the city of Natori, Miyagi Prefecture and other locations, events were held to commemorate the trail’s opening anniversary.

Despite the rain, approximately 300 people participated in the walking event in Natori.

S/ Boy: It was fun even with the rain.

S/ Woman: I can’t see this kind of scenery where I live, so I’m enjoying it.
