BTS member J-HOPE discharged from military service

S/ NNN Correspondent/ J-HOPE has come outside while being watched over by BTS fans known as “army.”

J-HOPE of Korea’s popular boyband BTS was discharged from mandatory military service on October 17.

He appeared in front of reporters and fans after completing 18 months of conscription.

J-HOPE enlisted in the Army Infantry Division boot camp in Wonju 140 kilometers east of Seoul in April last year.

He served as an assistant drill instructor during his time there.

Fellow BTS member JIN, who finished military service earlier in the year, greeted J-HOPE with a bouquet of flowers.

JIN was seen holding microphones from various news agencies for J-HOPE in a friendly manner.

S/ J-HOPE/ I am very thankful to everyone for waiting. I am grateful for your support, words of encouragement, and love. I was discharged safely. Thank you. Salute!”

The remaining 5 members of BTS are in the midst of their military service.

All members are expected to be discharged by next June.
