American boy falls unconscious in Nagano ski resort
NNN reporter / The accident happened here at the belt conveyor set at a course for beginners. It is currently out of service following the accident.
An employee of a ski resort in Nagano Prefecture made a report to the fire department around 9:45 AM on February 3 that a boy was unconscious after his neck got caught in a lift for beginners.
The fire department said the 10-year-old U.S. national taking part in ski lessons fell on his back on the moving walkway, and his hood got caught in the conveyor belt near the exit.
The instructor stopped the conveyor belt but the boy was unconscious.
He regained consciousness after CPR was performed on him.
The U.S. national was later transported to a hospital in Nagano City.
The ski resort will suspend the conveyor belt for the time being.
