U.S. President-elect Donald Trump had talks with SoftBank Group Chairman Son Masayoshi at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida on December 16.  

Following the meeting, Chairman Son announced at a joint press conference that his group will invest $100 billion in the United States, creating at least 100,000 jobs. 

Donald Trump, U.S. President-elect: Would you make it a 200 billion dollars instead of 100?  

Son Masayoshi, SoftBank Group Chairman: My promise is 100.  

Donald Trump, U.S. President-elect: 200-billion-dollar investment..that’s great.  

Son Masayoshi, SoftBank Group Chairman: He is a great negotiator.  

Trump called the chairman “Masa” to show his closeness, and then said, “I think it will eventually be 200 billion dollars.”
