The Chinese People’s Liberation Army announced on May 8 that its third aircraft carrier completed its sea trials.

The announcement came following its eight-day sea trials.

The army posted footage of Fujian on its social media, and said that the carrier achieved expected performance.

The Fujian is the first Chinese aircraft carrier that uses an electromagnetic catapult system,which can accelerate and launch aircrafts.

The Fujian is expected to undergo more trials.
