People flock to new railway-themed Garden Park north of Tokyo

People flocked to the newly opened Garden Park in Tsurugashima City, Saitama Prefecture north of Tokyo on June 9.

The train-themed park was developed by Sekisui Kinzoku, a railway model manufacturer, to coincide with the construction of a new factory in Tsurugashima.

This development was conducted in coordination with the city’s park planning.

The park displays small trains called light railways that were once active throughout the country.

Garden Park, which is reminiscent of an English garden, has a 620-meter track, and the small trains can run on it during events.

S/ Visitor: I’m glad that there is a facility where there is a collaboration between trains and the park because my child loves trains. It’s fun just being here.

Admission is free, and the city hopes to create a lively atmosphere through railways.
