Crown Prince Fumihito and Crown Princess Kiko of Akishino attended the opening ceremony of the National Sport Festival for People with a Disability, which was held in the prefecture for three days from October 26.

When the athletes entered the venue, the imperial couple clapped their hands together with the audience, Princess Kiko said, “Everyone looks like they are having fun.”

S/ Crown Prince Fumihito: I hope that all the participants will show the results of their daily practice and give a wonderful performance.

In the afternoon, the couple returned to Tokyo after watching the swimming competition for people with physical and intellectual disabilities.
