Emperor Naruhito, Empress Masako, and their daughter Princess Aiko returned to the Imperial Palace after a six-day retreat at the Imperial Ranch in Tochigi Prefecture.

The Imperial Family members had been on a six-day, five-night retreat at Goryo Bokujo, or the Imperial Stock Farm, north of Tokyo since May 2.

When they arrived at the farm, the Emperor, Empress, and Princess Aiko chatted with those who greeted them about jogging and cycling before touring around the ranch.

While on their tour, Empress Masako saw a foal that was born this year, and exclaimed that it was wagging its tail while she waved at it.

This is first time the Imperial Family has been on retreat at the Imperial Stock Farm since April 2023, and the first time Princess Aiko took holidays since starting work this year.
