Developers announced large-scale redevelopment plans for the former site of the Tsukiji fish market on May 1.

11 companies including Mitsui Fudosan, Toyota Fudosan, and Yomiuri Shimbun Holdings are taking part in the redevelopment.

The development plan centers a “multi-stadium” that can be rearranged for concerts, sports, plays, and other events. The surrounding will include hotels, businesses, condominiums, and a landing zone for flying cars expected in the future.

Construction is scheduled to be mostly completed by 2032.
