S/ Sato Atsushi, NNN correspondent: I’m now in northern Israel.  What you can see in the distance is Lebanon, where the Hezbollah, an armed group supported by Iran, is based. This northern part of Israel, including the area where I am now, has been under attack from Hezbollah almost every day, and an alert was issued near the border just a moment ago. Some reports say that Israel is likely to retaliate against support groups in third countries, including Hezbollah, after being hit by a large-scale attack by Iran.  

If that happens, the situation around here is also expected to deteriorate further. 

When talking to residents here, some say, “There is a possibility that the situation will escalate, and we do not want to fight back,” while others say, “I can’t believe we haven’t done anything yet. We should attack immediately.”

S/ Sato: Some local media reported that the war cabinet yesterday agreed to take retaliatory measures, but there is no official statement at this time. It is also reported that “retaliatory measures are being considered while taking into account Western countries,” and it seems that adjustments are continuing.
