China unveils new fighter jets at Zhuhai air show
S/ Watanabe Masayo, NNN Correspondent/ The Chinese military’s flagship stealth fighter J-20 just appeared in the sky.
The 15th Airshow China that got underway on November 12 in Zhuhai, Guangdong Province unveiled new stealth fighter jets and drones that are expected to be used by the Chinese navy.
The updated J-15T fighters that were shown to the public for the first time will likely be used on China’s most advanced aircraft carrier Fujian.
S/ Watanabe Masayo, NNN Correspondent/ This new model drone is also known as a floating aircraft carrier. The carrier can accommodate smaller drones and carry missiles.
A variety of drones were revealed for the first time including the updated stealth drone CH-7 that is expected to be installed on an aircraft carrier in the future.
A surface-to-air missile system that can intercept hypersonic missiles was also on display.
China can be seen aiming to strengthen its overall operational capabilities as it increases its activity around Taiwan in an effort to reunify and counter the United States that is fortifying its involvement with Taiwan.
