Godzilla rips through Tokyo Metropolitan building
A projection mapping of a 100-meter-tall Godzilla ripped through the Tokyo Metropolitan Government on April 27.
The spectacle celebrates the 70th anniversary of the creature, who led Japan win its first Academy Award for Visual Effects for “Godzilla Minus One.”
Shinjuku Ward, home to the TMG and a renowned night life district, also staged various fights between the monster and mankind in past films.
The event comes as part of the capital’s efforts to entice more tourists to Tokyo’s nightlife.
The TMG has been hosting similar projection mapping events at its headquarters since this February.
Visitors will be able to watch the Godzilla show three times a day on weekends and national holidays until May 6.
