Nissan set to step back from merger talks with Honda
Nissan Motor is set to step back from merger talks with Honda Motor, according to sources.
The two automakers, which announced in December 2024 that they would pursue a merger, were to announce the conclusion of their discussions by the end of January.
On February 5, Nissan discussed Honda's proposal to become Honda’s subsidiary, but received opposition within the firm.
According to sources, Nissan CEO Uchida Makoto told Honda CEO Mibe Toshihiro that the company would withdraw from the merger talks.
