Taiwan allows all Japanese food imports
Taiwanese authorities lifted import restrictions and now allow all Japanese food products to enter the country.
Taiwan stopped all imports of food products made in the 5 prefectures surrounding the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant after the 2011 nuclear disaster.
Some import restrictions against Japanese food products were lifted in 2022, but certain products such as wild game meat continued to be restricted.
A portion of food products are still required to provide a radioactivity inspection report in the new policy.
The Japanese Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries aims to eliminate all such restrictions.
