According to Japan’s Defense Ministry, it has judged the authenticity of the drone footage capturing Japan’s Maritime Self Defense Force’s destroyer, saying it is highly likely to be genuine.

The ministry said that the video was initially posted on Chinese social media in March. 

A video that is believed to be the same one is currently spreading on X as well. 

Flying drones over Japan’s Self-Defense Forces without permission is prohibited by law. 

The Japanese Defense Ministry is set to announce analysis results of the video soon
