Tour aims to show participants how Noto region is recovering from quake
Thirty-three people from the greater Tokyo area arrived by airplane in Ishikawa Prefecture, central Japan, on September 4.
They were the first to take part in a reconstruction support tour organized by the prefectural government and a travel agency.
Officials said the tour is aimed at showing participants how the Noto region is recovering from a powerful earthquake that struck on January 1, 2024.
On the first day of the two-day trip, the participants visited places including the city of Suzu.

For lunch, the participants had a seafood bowl topped with sashimi of marine products such as yellowtail and squid.

The tour is available until late November.
More than 900 people have made reservations so far.
